Account Settings in FlexBookz
Manage your FlexBookz personal account settings: update your profile photo, name, language, email, password, enable MFA, or delete your account securely.
Introduction
Account settings in FlexBookz let you manage your personal user profile and security preferences. From here you can update your profile photo, name, preferred language, email address and password, enable multi-factor authentication (MFA), or permanently delete your account. These settings apply only to your user account and do not change team or business-wide configuration.
How it Works
Your account settings are tied to your individual user profile. Changes made here affect how you sign in, how FlexBookz appears to you, and how protected your account is. For example, updating your language changes the user interface language for your sessions only. Enabling MFA adds an additional verification step to your sign-in process for stronger security.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Upload a profile photo
Click Upload a profile photo in the Account menu.
Select an image file from your computer. Preferably use a square image for best results.
Confirm the upload and save the change. The new photo will appear across FlexBookz where your avatar is shown.
2. Update your display name
Enter the desired name in the field labeled
Display name.Click Update profile to save. Your updated name will appear on bookings and notifications you send.
3. Set your preferred language
Open the
Languagedropdown and choose your preferred language. The interface will switch automatically for your account. You may need to refresh the page for all labels to update.
4. Change your email address
Enter the new email in the field
New email address.Re-enter the same email in the confirmation field.
Click Update email. You may receive a confirmation email to verify the new address before it becomes active.
5. Change your password
Enter a new password in
New password.Confirm the password by entering it again.
Click Update password. You will be required to sign in again on other devices in some cases.
6. Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA)
MFA adds an extra verification step when you sign in, for example using an authenticator app or SMS code.
Click Set up new factor or Enable MFA.
Scan the displayed QR code with your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy) or choose SMS if available.
Enter the one-time code generated by your authenticator app to verify the setup.
After verification the status will show as Verified. Keep your recovery codes in a safe place.
7. Delete your account (Danger zone)
Use this option only if you are sure you want to stop using FlexBookz. Account deletion is permanent and will remove your personal data and cancel active subscriptions associated with your user account.
Scroll to the bottom of the Account page and click Delete account.
Confirm your choice. You may be asked to enter your password or a verification code.
Once confirmed, your account and associated personal data are permanently removed.
Tips & Best Practices
Choose a strong password: Use a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols, and avoid common phrases.
Enable MFA: Always enable multi-factor authentication for the best protection against unauthorized access.
Keep contact details current: Make sure your email and phone number are up to date to receive account alerts and recovery codes.
Use a professional display name: If you interact with customers directly through FlexBookz, use the name customers will recognize.
Save recovery codes: When setting up MFA, store recovery codes securely in case you lose access to your authenticator app.
Troubleshooting
Cannot upload profile photo: Check the file type and size. Supported formats are typically JPG and PNG. Try resizing large images to a smaller square format.
New email not accepted: Ensure both email fields are identical and that the address is not already used by another FlexBookz account. Check your spam folder for verification emails.
Password change fails: Confirm that the new password meets the minimum requirements. If you receive an error, try copying the password into a plain text editor to verify accuracy before pasting.
Authenticator codes are rejected: Ensure your phone's clock is synced to network time. If issues persist, remove and re-add the account in your authenticator app and re-scan the QR code.
Accidentally deleted account: Account deletion is permanent. If you have a business admin who manages team accounts, contact them immediately to check for backups or alternative access options.
Practical examples and use cases
New staff member: A newly hired stylist updates their profile photo, display name and language so appointment confirmations show the correct name to clients.
Changing email address: If you move to a new email provider, update your FlexBookz email and verify it so you continue to receive booking notifications and reminders.
Improving security: An account that accesses multiple locations enables MFA to prevent unauthorized access across the business.
Security best practice: Treat account recovery codes like passwords. Store them offline in a secure location.
Example: Simple password policy
password_minimum_length: 8
require_numbers: true
require_special_characters: true
password_expiration_days: 180
